Mere hours after the dust-AND the gunpowder-has settled at the Boulder City Gun Club, host sight for Media Day at the Range, the Sands convention center opens its doors to thousands of sporting and firearms enthusiasts at the 2017 Shot Show
![]() In the Press Room, members of the sporting media work diligently to bring you the best coverage of the 2017 Shot Show We welcome you to take a few moments and enjoy these exclusive photos from our visit to the 2017 New Products Showcase
Our day 1 interview schedule was busy and eventful. Our representatives received our very first submissions for our annual 12 sample tactical knife review, courtesy of Mr. Steve Paolantonio at the Rhode Island-based Colonial Knife Company. The early contract holder and manufacturer of the Boy Scouts of America pocket knife, Colonial’s submission to our project is a sleek, sharp upgrade that somehow manages to retain the “Scout Spirit”.
![]() In addition, Mr. Daniel Winkler’s gracious donation features a sturdy, one-piece construction, low-glare tactical black finish terminating in a manner that will assure any would-be assailant “gets the point.”
Aside from our yearly knife project, Sin City Press is launching a year-round feature that will cover the finest submissions in the military/law enforcement and sport shooting industry: the Tactical Toolbox. Look for monthly reviews of high performance eyewear, clothing, tactical flashlights, self defense and safety products of all kinds, all put through our demanding “14 point test and review” and detailed both in print and in our online platform as well. If you are a reader with a suggestion or a manufacturer with a suggestion, please feel free to reach out to the Tactical Toolbox submission team here.
We hope you enjoyed Day 1 of the 2017 Shot Show, check back regularly for our continued coverage.
