June 23, 2023- The United States, guided by their experienced players, once again showcased their dominance in every aspect of the game. With the precision of a hawk’s swoop, their players swiftly maneuvered across the field, their movements fluid and coordinated. Passes flew through the air like arrows shot by expert archers, finding their intended targets with unerring accuracy.

Nine different players etched their names onto the scoresheet, each contributing to the team’s resounding victory. It was a testament to the depth and talent within the United States’ lacrosse ranks, as players from all positions showcased their abilities and left an indelible mark on the game.

But the spectacle of Team USA was perhaps overshadowed by the grandeur in which the Haudenosaunee announced their entrance to the championship in some style, defeating England 18-5 with an array of highlight-reel goals in their first game. Their scoring output was tied with Japan for the most goals by a team in a single game so far in San Diego.

Austin Staats, with his extraordinary talent, etched his name in the World Games record books, netting an astounding eight goals and providing an assist to lead the Haudenosaunee to triumph over England.

Head coach Lars Tiffany expressed his utmost admiration for the stellar performance, stating, “It brings immense joy to witness a Haudenosaunee lacrosse player in action. What you witnessed today against England was an incredible demonstration of superior stick skills.“

As the sun set over the lacrosse field, casting hues of orange and purple upon the land, the Haudenosaunee warriors rejoiced in their triumph, but their eyes remained fixed on the challenges that awaited them. With unyielding determination and unwavering faith in the spirits that guided them, they vowed to continue their pursuit of lacrosse excellence, honoring their ancestors and carrying the spirit of the Creator’s game within their hearts.
